As a Disaster Recovery Program Manager you will develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and programs for ensuring the security and integrity of company information systems and technologies. Develops business continuity contingency and disaster recovery plans. This is a self-directed role reporting to the Vice President of Infrastructure and works closely with various leaders with the Digital Technology group.

As a Disaster Recovery Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining enterprise-level Disaster Recovery program leveraging the technology assets in private datacentres as well as managed service providers and cloud environments (ie - AWS, Azure)
  • Developing and maintaining the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies
  • Participating in assessments of the impact of potential disruptions in IT services, including declaring a disaster and activating the DR plan
  • Managing all IT DR documentation, including policy and procedure updates with a focus on maintaining the most up-to-date versions. Facilitate the design, execution, and continuous improvement of IT DR plans through exercising
  • Coordinating the maintenance of documentation, roles/responsibilities, procedures, and protocols for resources required for DR operations.
  • Coordinating the development, training, and exercising of IT DR plans
  • Establishing and maintain detailed DR communications, and command and control plans through a change management process
  • Interface with the IT technical staffs to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle
  • Establishing testing methodologies to ensure that all plans are sound and secure. Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution
  • Scheduling and leading all DR exercises
  • Recording results, validate outcomes, document and report outcomes of DR exercises and tests
  • Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management
  • Acting as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes
  • Interface with the project managers to ensure that new and ongoing projects sustain the level of recoverability consistent with business objectives

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have between 5 -10 years' experience in IT disaster recovery field (ie - creating, implementing, testing IT DR plans)
  • Have thorough knowledge of disaster recovery strategy, planning, implementation, compliance, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Have regularly demonstrate tenacity, assertiveness, grit, passion, and drive to be successful in this role
  • Have thorough knowledge and understanding of current IT DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk analyses and business impact analyses
  • Have experience in application classification and assignment of RTO and RPO SLA's
  • Have working knowledge of data networking concepts, technologies, and best practices
  • Have strong communication and documentation skills
  • Have proven competency in executing large projects, on time and within budget
  • Have experience coordinating new operational models and procedures, and explaining complex problems or situations
