Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Galashiels, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager for an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of £450-£500/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future with occasional working from the office.

Responsibilities:

- The organisation is undertaking an ambitious programme of work that encompasses both a transformation together with the procurement and subsequent migration to a new technology platform for the delivery of Pension and Payroll administration services.

- The platform will be a COTS package from one vendor, looking to host it on public cloud. Everything has to be superlative quality in terms of actions, content and presentation. Everything has to have an audit and decision trail. The organisation will need to change significantly in order to achieve the benefits that the new platform will enable.

- You will have to define and prepare for the a platform transition, everything from comms, team definition and recruitment (various acquisition routes), stakeholder engagement.

- The role will also be involved in the procurement evaluation and award, leading on the joint planning with the vendor and then delivering the first 6-9 months of the transition.

- You will lead on the platform transition from a planning and delivery perspective, support the closing stages of the procurement, develop supporting business case(s) and act as support and subsequent backfill contingency for the current Programme Manager. The role will report to the overall programme director of transformation.

- You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager, used to working across the entire project life cycle on a variety of significant and complex platform, technology and data migration projects combined with the associated business change.

- You will be an outstanding cross functional leader, able to motivate teams and have significant experience of successfully managing a range of complex, high value projects and programmes from project start up through to project closure. You will develop robust and trusting relationships across all lines of service and our internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

- Deep experience of leading successful technology enabled business and process change in a customer-facing delivery environment

- Development and management of Business Cases

- Excellent project management skills and a track record of working affordably and flexibly within demanding timetables

- Fluency in digital service design and delivery

- Strong communication and influencing skills

Desirable Skills:

- Experience of public/private sector pensions administration or other financial services focussed operational environments

- Experience as a Senior Project Manager in regulated financial services, delivering a wide variety of IT enabled change projects.

- Recent experience of complex COTS/packaged software implementations

- Significant experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams, using a combination of sourcing and management approaches eg permanent colleagues, agency workers, vendor teams, secondments, direct placements and Matrix-management.
