Intelligent Resource Recruitment is working in partnership with a major Public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager role to be remotely based.

Job Title: Commercial Manager

Location: Remote

Contract Length: 6 months with possible extension

IR35: Inside

The Maximum Daily Rate: £486 per day

Description:

  • The Supplier Manager role is responsible for working with our Telco Suppliers, mainly Carriers and Altnets to manage the buying and inlife-management of the contractuals. They will lead on owning the relationship managing account plans and all Supplier Management initiatives - which will include Contractual Reviews, Contractual changes, negotiations and Strategic Business Reviews. A key part of the role will be to support our bid teams in owning the costs from our Telco Suppliers and negotiating good rates to ensure that our bids are competitive in the market place.
  • Creating a centre of excellence for Alt Net market knowledge and the market development and ensuring the partnerships deliver revenue targets

What do I need?

  • Detailed knowledge of the telco market, products and businesses, including Alt Net Market. Understand business/bid needs and be able to put them in overall context to go to market.

Contract/Supplier Management

  • Experience in contract Management, understanding key commercial clauses to enables the best negotiation/renewal and limiting risks. Creating the process to report and measure on our position. Ensuring the process for renewals is Embedded and manage the appropriate signoffs. Ensuring an optimal cost base delivers long term benefit, whilst nurturing strategic partnerships, with account plans on the suppliers that will feed into C level briefings.
  • As the key Supplier Manager for Alt Nets who will create Initial engagement and nuture the relationship, assisting procurement on RFP negotiations. Ensuring onboarding of the Alt Nets, liaising with Legal and Procurement on deal summary for sign off. Moving them to inlife to monitor the delivery and performance, tracking any service credits.
  • Cost Optimisation
  • Responsible for review the Costs of Telecoms business and looking at areas for reduction/optimisation to ensure that the business is as lean as possible, and increasing our value. This in turn will ensure that our bids are competitive.

Carrier Management

  • Management of our Carriers - creating a Carrier/Alt Net management performance pack so that we can to enable strategic sourcing decisions. Support our sales team to enable speedy carrier purchasing.
  • Bid Support
  • Provide commercial overview and support on bid, ensuring commercial governance is adhered to and improved Mitigating commercial risk
  • KPI Reporting
  • Management responsibility for KPI reporting of relevant Suppliers.

Continuous Improvement

  • Responsibility for ensuring that the status quo is challenged and that everything we do is as efficient as it can be.

Desirable skills

  • Expert in the Telco market, with knowledge of Alt Nets
  • Personal proven track record in executing complex Telco buying
  • Project Management experience
  • Broad knowledge of contracts with ability to draft special terms, including dispute procedures, and experience of managing such.
  • Understanding of the supply chain and how to improve it.
  • Ability to influence people outside own sphere of responsibility with advanced negotiation skills, highly numerate with highly developed drafting and writing skills
  • Decision Maker and customer Focused
  • Influencing and Leadership, strategic thinking along with self-confidence - confidence to challenge the norm and think creatively
  • Self-motivated & resilience
