Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Intelligence Analyst an initial 4 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of £185/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances these roles will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:
-Play a key role in the delivery of the research, performance and intelligence requirements and the provision of a statistical analysis and reporting service
-Be responsible for designing and producing a variety of robust analytical reports and products that meet management and other stakeholder requirements
-Collect, collate, evaluate and analyse complex information from a wide range of internal and external sources to show patterns and trends
-Make sure all data provided in reports is robust, accurate and complete
-Be able to visualise insight in various technologies tailored for the various internal stakeholders
-Support the introduction of new data capture methods.

Essential Skills:

-Either educated to degree level in a relevant subject OR holds a higher education qualification in a relevant subject
-Able to demonstrate proven and recent experience working in an analytical field.
-Significant experience using a range of analytical methods to gain insight and intelligence from large volumes of data.
-Demonstrates research and analytical skills and an understanding of evaluation methods with the ability to interpret complex information, develop inferences and make recommendations.
-Experience in presenting complex analyses clearly both in writing and orally that takes account of the needs of the intended audience.
-Working knowledge of the following: data visualisation techniques and systems, data management and quality assurance and performance measurement and reporting.
-Excellent analytical thinking and reasoning skills with the ability to identify key trends in data and add value to analysis.
-Excellent statistical and analytical skills and strong IT skills.
-Can work with key stakeholders to capture relevant requirements.
-Demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of attention to detail and confidentiality.
-Ability to prioritise project workloads involving changing circumstances and conflicting priorities.
-Work collaboratively with others, appreciating and respecting their viewpoint and values.
-Articulate and able to express ideas and information clearly and concisely.
-Demonstrates an enthusiasm and curiosity about data and transforming it into robust, actionable intelligence.

Desirable Skills:

-Specific qualification or accreditation in data analysis, quality management or social research.
-Use of Geographic Information System (GIS)/spatial representation of data
-Experience working with Power BI.
-Knowledge of social care.
-Ability to work autonomously using their own initiative and with minimal supervision
-Ability to think laterally and solve problems through an indirect and creative approach, using reasoning that is not immediately obvious.
