Description

Senior Knowledge Manager required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £480 a day, inside IR35, remote working.

Ideally you will be SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance.

As a Senior Knowledge Manager within the DDAT IT Operations cluster, you will play a key role in supporting IT Operations through managing the identification, collation, organisation and management of knowledge in support of IT Operations activities.

Main Responsibilities:
*Managing the knowledge management team, ensuring an inventory of DDAT IT Operations knowledge articles are maintained and aligned to data protection.
*Ensuring the DDAT IT Operations knowledge bases are regularly updated with data and information from relevant internal and external sources, making sure knowledge articles are accessible and presented appropriately for the intended audience
*Ensuring alignment with knowledge management processes and procedures, making sure risks associated with knowledge management activities are assessed and managed
*Ensuring knowledge-sharing templates and tools are developed, shared and maintained
*Implementing and maintaining any changes to IT support operating models, reflecting the strategy as set by the Lead Knowledge Manager
*Ensuring users and IT support staff have the information they need to support self-help and first-time fix activities, identifying and addressing any gaps
*Championing a culture of knowledge-sharing across ddat it operations
*Ensuring the onboarding of new/updated services are supported as required, capturing relevant knowledge articles relating to the new services
*Sharing knowledge and expertise with others, coaching and supporting team members as required
*Undertaking appropriate training for the role and seek to constantly improve performance through personal development
*Participating, contributing to and supporting collaboration initiatives and career development within the it operations community, building in-house capability via a professional community of practice

Essential Skills:
*Performing a similar role within the Civil Service or at other organisations
*Ability to lead and work as part of a team and to engage effectively with suppliers and customers
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
*Strong sense of ownership and drive to follow tasks through to completion
*Deeply customer-focused
*Strong planning and organisation skills
*Willingness to learn new knowledge management techniques and technologies and maintain industry knowledge

Desirable Skills:
*Understanding of and experience of adhering to ITIL v3/v4 service management processes
*Product-delivery experience
*Understanding of Lean, Agile and Devops principles within a Product-centric delivery model
