Data Layer Platform Engineer/DevOps Engineer
Location: Bracknell
Inside IR35 - 6 months initial contract

Data Layer platform engineer/DevOps engineer required to work within the DSaB platform and services team. The role will have the following experience:
Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Jenkins, Groovy and Terraform.Developing automation code and pipelines for many of the following technologies: a. Big data technologies: Hadoop (HDFS, HBase, Hive), Spark, Kaftka b. Datastores: Postgres c. Deployment of data layer capability into Kubernetes based platforms using Helm, Docker, JSONnet, YAML d. Experience of CI/CD/IaC for AWSDocumentation of code pipelines and implementationWorking within SCRUM based development projects.Working within large government projects and programmesWorking with a tech lead who will carry out peer review and provide guidance and support as needed.Tech Specialist required for ongoing DSaB Programme to work into Data layer platform devOps.
The squad tech will have the following responsibilities: Data Layer platform engineer/devOps engineer required to work within the DSaB platform and services team.
The role will have the following experience:
Develop infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelinesDocumentation of code pipelines and implementationDeveloping automation code and pipelines for the following DevOps toolsets: a. Microsoft GitHub, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Jenkins/Terraform b. Container technologies including - Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, JSONnet c. Cloud Platforms - AWS d. Experience of CI/CD automation for highly available, Groovy apps, Java applications with spring boot. e. Experience of CI/CD automation for highly available Hadoop/Kaftka and PostGres/PostGres RDS is preferableWorking within SCRUM based development projects within a SCRUM of SCRUMs approach.Working within large government projects and programmesWorking with a tech lead who will carry out peer review and provide guidance and support as needed.Experience of working on CI/CD for innovative QA methods including Chaos Engineering with the ability to read and understand Java data engineering codeSkills

Understanding of distributed architectures and secure solutions

Secondary skills: knowledge of ELK, prometheus, dynatrace for monitoring
