Description
To manage the application of and continuously review the Enterprise Risk Management and Bespoke Assurance frameworks ensuring that they are Embedded and operating effectively across the organisation, in line with Cabinet Office best practice and internationally approved standards.
* Lead on the design and delivery of an effective and efficient Enterprise Risk Management and Bespoke Assurance framework, and through a process of regular monitoring and review ensure this is consistently applied across the organisation at operational, tactical and strategic levels, owing to the effectiveness of the Internal Control Framework.
* As the subject matter expert, work directly with and provide specialist advice and support to the Heads of Complex Casework Units, HQ Directors, Area Business Managers (ABM) including other senior stakeholders across England & Wales engaging with them on a one-to-one basis if necessary, to develop and ensure their understanding of Risk Management and Assurance leading to the successful delivery of business objectives both local and corporate.
* Maintain the Bespoke Assurance Framework to support and enable the sub-committees to meet their corporate governance obligations.
* They will be required to prepare comprehensive reports for the Board setting out such changes and the consequent amendments to internal governance arrangements and procedures, multiple times a year if necessary.
* To help with the co-ordination of the response to Internal Audit recommendations following by analysing the Audit reports outcomes and ensuring a project plan to address the issues raised and putting in place contingencies to prevent any recurrence or materialization of the risks identified.
* Pro-actively identify delays and resourcing difficulties and mitigate these to ensure smooth delivery or projects and procurement exercises. Support the Head of Strategic Financial Planning, Risk Management and Assurance in the development and implementation of the Risk Appetite by analysing and evaluating the effects of change and preparing explanatory papers and reports for the Chief Executive and other senior stakeholders.
* Contribute to the drafting of the Finance & Estates Directorate Business Plan by providing both verbal and written commentary and suggestions on the directorates risk and assurance strategy.
