We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Operational Risk Manager to join their team for a six-month contract.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
This Operational Risk role will be an acknowledged thought leader in technology risk management with experience in IT, hands-on technical expertise in IT management, controls/information security within globally complex, dispersed and diverse organisations. Prior experience in previous roles should include companies with global technology infrastructure in international financial services firms.
In this role, you will advance the Engineering Division's control framework and governance processes by assuring alignment with regulatory requirements, best practices, and industry trends.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with financial institutions and the regulatory landscape, have a general understanding of information security and cybersecurity topics and possess strong writing and analytical skills. A candidate will find success through the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong track record of gaining consensus on a team spread across multiple global offices.
- Governance and Oversight of technology risk.
- Support in the development of Policy and Standards.
- Oversight of Key Technology Operational Risks and related indicators and thresholds.
- Challenge of business and technology Risk Self-Assessments.
- Challenge of Business technology Scenario Analysis Perform internal and external event reviews specific to ICG businesses.
- Advice on best practices leveraging expertise and industry insights.
- Liaise with businesses to ensure that proposals accurately analyse all relevant risks and that the appropriate control functions have been understood and opined on the proposal.
- Review materials prepared for submission to FCA, ensuring completeness as per the FCA Standard.
- Establishes and oversees the Compliance with Operational Risk Management policies/standards, adherence to Tech risk appetite, and Governance processes.
- Issue Management and Oversight (Corrective Action Plans).
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Knowledge of and interest in information security/cyber security and the financial services sector
- experience in a risk and information technology/security or adjacent compliance role
- Basic project management, analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion
- Experience analysing regulation and legislation in the UK/Globally
- Experience conducting risk assessments and risk remediation projects in large scale organisations
- The ideal candidate will have in-depth, detailed knowledge of Technology Governance and Management frameworks/standards
- In-depth knowledge of operational processes and technology platforms supporting the Operations. Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience
- They are familiar with automated monitoring tools and incident tracking tools to effectively communicate and manage incidents, defects, and data quality/integrity issues.
- Practical experience with SCRUM/Agile and Waterfall methodologies within the financial industry.
- SDLC and Technology Architecture components.
