Intelligent Resource Recruitment is working in partnership with a major Public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting for the Business Change Lead role to be based out of Reading.

Role: Business Change Lead

Location: Reading

Duration: 3 months contract initially

IR35 Status: Inside

The main purpose of the role is to drive business change and business readiness activities in support of the delivery of transformation across the ECS/Business Energy portfolio. As part of this role, the individual will set, own and apply project and/or programme methodology within the overarching Business Change Framework, responsible for working in partnership to ensure all business change activities and deliverables (including organisational design, education and training, communications and engagement and business readiness) are delivered on time, to quality and budget across the SSE portfolio of projects which have significant change impacting one or more areas of the business. Establish and operate the measurement of the portfolio of transformation initiatives to track delivery against the business strategy, helping inform all parties to support portfolio governance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Definition of essential behaviours,
  • Communications strategy,
  • Learning strategy, and Approach to leveraging analytics and measurement tools and methodologies.
  • As part of the definition of the Business Change Strategy, it will be necessary to define the desired behaviours from the organisation, as well as establishing a behavioural measurement and tracking
  • This measurement and tracking capability will rely on reporting and KPIs, consistent across the portfolio, that demonstrate benefits realisation associated with Transformation.
  • Own and apply project/programme methodology and content within the Business Change
  • Ensure the business understands how projects are aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation and how successful delivery is linked with the benefits realisation process.
  • Set and maintain standards for the relevant change programme capability.
  • Develop, publish and engage the business in the use of best practice templates and terms of reference material.
  • Manage projects within a portfolio to ensure successful delivery of objectives and appropriate use of allocated
  • Ensure the correct change tools are aligned with the relevant project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, CI)
  • Set, maintain and apply methodology and content for education and training activities and deliverables within the Business Change Framework.
  • Lead the development and successful execution of the overarching approach to education and training, working with Group HR/Learning and Talent as required.
  • Hold overall responsibility for all education and training deliverables and activities across the relevant project or programme capability, including:
  • Training Needs Analysis,
  • Train The Trainer,
  • Design and development of training materials,
  • Scheduling,
  • Delivery and evaluation of training.
  • Provide support and coaching to relevant business resources to assess change capability and put in place change training in conjunction with resources available from Group L&T appropriate for the varying programme demands, responding to internal and external factors to ensure training facilitates successful business readiness.
  • Work with other Change Leads and Programme Leads to best manage cumulative impact through release management strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Business Knowledge:

  • Understanding of business IT and technology requirements, and their impact on Business
  • Energy staff.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulation, industry change, anti-competitive and anti[1]bribery legislation and data protection requirements sufficient to assess risk independently
  • for projects and consult with relevant specialists as appropriate.
  • Experience of how change impacts on people and organisations.
