Sanderson are working exclusively with a leading financial services provider to recruit a IFRS 17 Accounting Data Lead.
The role is part of an established IFRS 17 Accounting Team, made up of a number of accounting specialists located across multiple locations. The team is focussed good quality accounting data is available at every stage of the newly developed IFRS 17 process, from policy admin systems to statutory and regulatory reporting under the new standard. The IFRS 17 Accounting Team are part of the broader IFRS 17 Data and Systems team which is delivering the end-to-end IFRS 17 solution, including the Actuarial and IT deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- To design & test accounting data processes for IFRS17 & BAU Cash-flow Matching
- Design & test of strategic accounting data controls, ensuring they are adequate & operated effectively and business ready
- To provide ad-hoc analysis, briefing packs and governance documents to meeting the requirements of key stakeholders and external auditors
- Support the development of an IFRS17 Shared Service Centre for Accounting related activity and document key accounting processes
- Define & document the TOM for Accounting Data and align with hand ins & hand offs across a number of multi-functional Teams
- Own & coordinate the delivery of accounting data requirements across various project workstreams
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant with experience in a financial reporting role (within Life Insurance would be advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of accounting processes and financial reporting in large complex Insurance or Financial Services organisations (preferably Life Insurance)
- Excellent analytical skills and pro-active drive to identify and investigate issues with data
- Strong excel and analytical skills
- Knowledge of IFRS 17, Solvency II and experience of preparing statutory accounts would be beneficial
