Solution Designer Architect - Telecoms Business Support Systems
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires Solution Designers with Telecoms experience to be based in their client's offices in either Bristol, London, Birmingham, or Belfast.
You may be able to work remotely until Covid abates.
This is a 12- month temporary contract to start on 01st Feb 2022.
Key Responsibilities
- You'll be responsible for understanding and aligning to platform strategy and/or the domain roadmaps
- You'll be responsible for stakeholder management of the CFU -Customer Facing Unit (Directors, Senior Product Manager), CTIO -Chief Technology Information Office leads, Project or Portfolio Directors and Managers for their project/domain to ensure that the requirements are met and are fit for purpose.
- You'll be accountable for understanding how the products in the domain are going to evolve and how new products launch through active use of collaborative and user led human centred design techniques.
- You'll be accountable in your domain design area, for new developments and in life, reviewing processes to check the design.
- You will ensure that designs meet quality, time and are fit for purpose.
- You'll work through the resolution within time and resource constraints within this area and have e2e responsibility of that solution or work in an agile squad to help build the solution iteratively.
- Your role will be accountable for helping shape the architectural framework for the project/domain area and the technical direction for your project/domain.
- Your role could be focused on new products, on cross domain implications, providing technical expert in this area, or building new capabilities within the domain or platform.
- You will understand domain and platform impacts to ensure the solution fits within the architectural recommendations and patterns, contributing to the raising of risks and assumptions which could impact sales, service, or user experience.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading and defining end to end solutions ideally within a Telco environment across the BSS domain (ie, order capture, order management, credit checking, integration, product catalogue and partner integration.)
- Experience influencing and defining Solution strategies and agreeing technical roadmaps across specific domains
- An experienced end to end Designer/Architect able to produce design artefacts with a proven track record of success delivering to time and quality within a fast-paced complex environment.
- Experienced with Waterfall and Agile Project delivery methodologies
- Ideally TOGAF certified with UML Modelling tool experience (such as Sparx EA) and can demonstrate a good understanding of target architecture.
- Experience and knowledge of Velocity EPC and COM would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, able to lead and collaborate in technical workshops, and clearly communicate ideas and solutions through various means (written, presentation and in person), with both internal and external teams. this is followed by an explanation of complex issues to a wider business audience.
- Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with key senior stakeholders & influence business decisions and outcomes.
- Experience leading, architecting, and delivering complex cross-functional, E2E Solutions in a telecom's environment.
- Exposure to multiple and diverse technologies and environments.
