My client, a large Insurance company is looking for a Data Analyst with a strong background in the Insurance Sector.
Please note, this role falls inside of IR35, so you would need to utilise an umbrella solution.
The ideal candidate needs to be able to analyse and understand ETL data flows from a high level but also a very low technical level, (this could be SQL views/stored procedures or SSIS packages). They will then need to be able to document it appropriately which may include creating diagrams of the data flows.
They will also need to know what a data warehouse is and how all of its components fit together, (Ideally with Kimball Methodology experience).
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both in business and technical terms
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of ETL processes including the ability to analyse existing ETL and produce documentation to support the creation of new ETL flows
- Familiarity with SSIS as an ETL tool
- Familiarity with SQL, SQL tools and general database principles
- Knowledge of London market insurance
- Experience of typical Finance department processes and requirements mainly from a reporting perspective.
- Good understanding of reporting database systems their design, particularly Kimball modelling methodologies
- Good understanding of data warehouse systems, their function, and the business requirements they are intended to service.
- Experience of working in SAFe Agile development environments.
- Good knowledge of business functions, business operations, objectives, and strategies.
- In-depth knowledge IT standards and guidelines.
