Rate: £540 per day Inside IR35

Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Project/Delivery Manager to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

You will be responsible for:

1. Driving the delivery of four customer-facing Service Design and Delivery projects, following the GDS approach.

2. You will own the delivery planning and tracking and will be responsible for the timely delivery of the planned outcomes for the projects.

3. You will understand the implications of the GDS approach, ie Discovery, Alpha, Beta and will have demonstrated experience of leading and delivering customer-facing service design projects.

4. Plan, lead and facilitate all aspects of project/programme delivery, including definition and management of the project scope and schedule.

5. Develop, baseline and manage all the project delivery management artefacts, including Project Schedule, Project Risks, Issues, Actions and Decisions log (RAID), etc.

6. Consistently track and monitor team progress. Effectively manage and escalate risks/issues/dependencies with any parameters impacting project quality, cost and timely delivery.

7. Facilitate and schedule workshops with business, engineering managers, architects, and solution owners for solutions and requirements clarifications as needed.

8. Provide regular reporting, including weekly status reports, end of sprint reports, quarterly objectives, and team progress for visibility to all stakeholders and business partners.

9. Participate in team Agile ceremonies, including daily scrum, retrospectives etc.

10. Assist with decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to epics, where necessary.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. GDS

2. Leading SAFe Agile Delivery

3. JIRA and Confluence

4. Microsoft Dynamics, Java J2EE, web services, APIs, cloud, containers, DevOps CI/CD etc.

5. Ability to understand complex technical issues, assess potential impact, create remedial plans/options and explain in a simple non-jargon way to peers and seniors

6. Experience in managing complex programmes and projects across multiple locations and regions and delivering to demanding schedules

7. Proven communications and influencing skills across all levels, both internal and external -including presentations, negotiations and written reporting

8. Ability to lead and motivate diverse project teams and juggle multiple tasks

9. Ability to coach and guide teams, scrum masters and senior leadership in Agile SAFe processes and drive continuous improvements to consistently add value

Desirable Skills/Experience

1. Although not essential, Public Sector experience is desired by the client.
