Description

Service Architect required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6 month contract, paying £600 - £650 per day, inside IR35, remote/hybrid working (offices based in London).

As a Service Architect, you will focus on the needs of the user and ensure every aspect of product and service development is user-centric and evidence-based.

You will work closely with Demand Managers, Service Owners, Product Managers, Technical Architects and Service Delivery teams to understand the people, process and tooling requirements of the service, ensuring that all the service requirements, resources and capabilities needed have been captured and appropriately documented in readiness for service transition.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Produce formal service requirement assessments (SRAs) to ensure that proposed service solutions arising from any new/changed service requirements are aligned to the overall Technology Services (TS) service architecture and end-to-end service model.
  • Produce service design deliverables eg service design packs, operational working agreements, operational level agreements that are consistent and aligned to the Technology Services (TS) service architecture and end-to-end service model.
  • Update/maintain the D&T Technology Services service model.
  • Capture, update and maintain the base set of Service Management and other (non-functional) service requirements across Technology Services and Service Operations.
  • Maintain the detailed Service Architecture and design process.
  • Manage the service design for products and services to ensure a consistent and coherent service approach for any new demand.
  • Create a collaborative environment and sustain a good service.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ability to visualise, articulate and solve problems and to make disciplined decisions based on available information.
  • Ownership of problems and show initiative in aligning the necessary resources to bring about a successful outcome.
  • An overall perspective on service issues, events, activities and discuss their wider implications and long-term impact.
  • This could include determining patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements.
  • Engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users/personas and actors putting users first and can manage competing priorities.
  • Make and guide effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached.
  • An agile mindset to all aspects of work. Work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery.
  • Be prepared to take risks and be willing to learn from mistakes and appreciate the importance of agile delivery for digital projects in government

Desirable:

  • Level 3 or 4 ITIL Foundation
  • Understanding of DevOps and agile frameworks and techniques
  • Experience in Service transition and service acceptance process
  • ITIL Process evaluation and re-design
