Technical Product Owner

Are you a passionate and confident Technical Product Owner ready to make a significant contribution working for one of the UK's fastest growing Financial Services Consultancies?

MHC Overview:
MHC are an award-winning IT and Business Consultancy, specialising in Change Management initiatives, which we deliver working in a collaborative way with our Clients. We are currently working on a wide variety of assignments that include some major Digital Transformation initiatives, Regulatory and Compliance Programmes and Tools adoption projects where we are providing specialist technical and business services to a client base of primarily Tier 1 Banks.

You will have the confidence and the capability to step straight into a specialist consultancy role within one of MHC's Practice areas to provide effective and efficient solutions that support our Clients' business requirements, while working constructively with senior MHC and Client managers and other staff.

MHC are hiring a Technical Product Owner to join us on a PAYE contract basis and join a project we are delivering for a Tier 1 Global Bank.

For a project based on inventories and infrastructure, we require a Technical Product Owner who will gain a detailed understanding of the project epics, and then own and drive delivery of these with the relevant resources and teams. They will work in partnership with the Platform Architecture team, Platform Lead, Inventory control owner and delegate alongside SME's and stakeholders from relevant teams to deliver the project outcomes based on priority, ensuring all delivery is tested and deployed appropriately.

Specific requirements are:

  • As the technical product owner, work with other Product Owners and DevOps teams, and responsible for the delivery, on-going success & continuous improvement of the project deliverables.

  • As the technical product owner, ensure that work is de-constructed and translated into development activities across teams, that the backlog is managed and prioritised in collaboration with the Project Manager in an agile manner.

  • Accountable for ensuring that all activities performed by Teams adhere to the relevant Service Management Standards, and high data quality exists in Service Management systems of record.

  • As the technical product owner, ensure that high levels of automation are implemented and maintained across the work streams.

  • Accountable together with Security Specialists or individual product owners to formulate the security testing strategy.

  • Accountable for ensuring compliance of the products and services with mandatory and regulatory requirements, control objectives in the risk and control framework and technical currency (in line with published standards and guidelines) and with the architecture function, implementation of the business imperatives.

  • Accountable for ensuring that all activities performed by teams adhere to the relevant prevailing data standards and data controls.

  • Ensure the cost base for the products and services is managed in line with project budget.

  • Participate as part of relevant leadership teams to steer and lead project activities.

  • be comfortable liaising with technical and non-technical individuals

  • have experience of presenting complicated information to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

  • be confident representing the project to both internal stakeholders and external providers

  • have strong technical understanding and the ability to convey information in non-technical language

  • be an excellent communicator

  • have high motivation and self-starter skills and must be able to work without direct supervision and guidance

  • be uSED to delivering at pace in an agile methodology

  • demonstrate strong time management, ability to work under pressure and have priority management skills

  • have a willingness to learn and work in new business areas

  • have proven problem solving and investigation skills, with the ability to provide solutions

  • hold strong collaborative and negotiation skills
