Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading assent management company as an Investment Accountant.

Our client is looking for a temporary Investment Accountant to cover their growing Value Add Real Estate Funds in EMEA. The team interacts with 3rd party service providers and internal groups such as portfolio management, operations, legal and compliance and product tax to ensure the funds' financial activities are properly recorded.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

*Oversight of the preparation of quarterly reporting of real estate investments held by our Funds through holding and property companies in IFRS and the local GAAP.
*Managing the accounting deliverables which are prepared by our outsourced accounting providers and property managers.
*Producing as required financial reporting at the property and holding company levels
*Reviewing the monthly accounting reports from Property Manager, performing a variance analysis, monitoring cash
*Monitoring bank accounts, bank reconciliations, ensuring invoices are paid by the outsourced service providers, maintaining a strong control environment
*Following procedures and keeping strong controls, identifying improvements to processes.
*Oversite of and the timely production of annual accounts by outsourced accounting providers, ensuring that audit questions are addressed accordingly, and filed within the timeframes.
*Co-ordinating with the various stakeholders in BlackRock Real Estate such as Asset Managers, Portfolio Managers, Tax team, and Legal.
*A knowledge of Real Estate fund administration would be beneficial (eg an understanding of real estate investments held through a Luxembourg, Irish, or French domiciled fund vehicle)

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

*Experience in the real estate investments or financial industry combined with analytical/problem solving skills
*Familiarity of IFRS and local GAAP(s).
*Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
*Experience of planning workload in order to meet reporting deadlines
*Computer literacy (eg MS Office, Excel, Yardi, other real estate accounting packages).
*Knowledge of statutory accounting eg IFRS, Lux GAAP, and/or other local GAAP(s).
*Experience in Financial Statement preparation and dealing with Auditors
*Knowledge of statutory regulations such as Corporation Tax, VAT, others
*Good written and spoken English language skills, other languages useful.
*Accounting qualification (eg ACA, ACCA, or CIMA equivalent) preferred but not essential
