Lead/Senior Machine learning Engineer (Financial Services)
6-month contract
Remote working (with occasional travel to site)

We are looking for a Lead/Senior Machine Learning Engineer to work with one of our consultancy clients on a remote contract. We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning engineer to manage a team of engineers on specific engagements within financial services, focused on productionising existing AI solutions designed for processing large data sets (eg, using a Hadoop framework) that accelerate our clients digital journeys.
This could include refactoring and optimising existing solution, automating & productionising AI pipelines, and deploying solution into the gcp cloud with best practices, scalability, and auditability in mind. You will also be involved in business development, asset development and will collaborate with the data and cloud engineering teams to build seamless solutions and products.
Key skills:
- Demonstrable experience in AI, data science, data engineering and/or other technology related capabilities in one or multiple industries.
- You mus have demonstrable experience of GCP and working within the google cloud platform
- GCP Machine Learning Engineering
- GCP Data Engineering
A combination of one or more of the following:
- Proficient with programming languages like Python, R, Scala,
- Proficient with Git, Linux, Docker
- Software Engineering best practices and Object-Oriented Programming
- Skills in big data technologies like Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Apache Beam, Apache Airflow
- SQL and NoSQL database
- BSc (ideally MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, and/or similar technical field
Ideally you will have designed and built big data pipelines with machine learning workloads which are repeatable and scalable for extremely large datasets. Deployed the latest NLP techniques (Transformer Models in productions), conceptualized data governance models, have worked with PyTorch or TensorFlow and MLOps (MLFlow, Kubeflow, BentoML or similar).
