The Domain Architect is responsible for one or more specific enterprise-wide business domains. Within the framework of roadmaps and projects, the Domain Architect develops possible solutions at a high level in order to meet the needs of the company within the framework of the established reference architecture. These solutions are then implemented in collaboration with the Solution and Technical Architects.
The Domain Architect participates in the selection of suppliers and solutions and cooperates with the Solution and Technical Architects to create solutions within the framework of the existing reference architecture.
Responsibilities
Your objective is to build a solid, coherent, and efficient IT and process architecture for the business while assuming the responsibilities below (non-exhaustive list):
- Contribute to the development of a capability map related to business processes and technologies (digital solutions) in accordance with the value streams and business objectives
- Subject it to quality checks and correct any inconsistencies and gaps in the knowledge base by searching for the relevant information
- Perform methodological and detailed studies on the As Is situation and document them in the repository
- Develop an IT vision and strategy in collaboration with the business and define preferred and authorized technologies as well as standard business models; document everything in a clear and understandable way
- Develop, document, and update a digital roadmap in collaboration with relevant parties within the business
- Assess project requirements from a business process, IT and technology perspective based on the IT vision and strategy. Propose adjustments and modifications if necessary
- Control the application life cycle and propose measures to maintain a healthy IT architecture
- Check IT compliance against business processes and look for possible performance and efficiency gains
- Help define standards and toolkits to be used for all projects
- Guide project analysts in the defined models and control the quality, completeness, and compliance of their deliverables with established standards
- Check the consistency of the proposed solutions with other projects as well as with the vision and the defined IT strategy
- Collaborate with case study experts
Minimum requirements
- Experience: Senior profile - more than eight years of experience as an Enterprise/Domain Architect
- Relevant experience in different projects or environments
- Any experience in the railway or transport industry is a strong asset
- Strong affinity with IT and business
- Experience as Technical Analyst, Functional Analyst, Business Analyst or equivalent
- Knowledge of different analysis techniques (for example, use cases and scenario building)
- Experience with various notations and methodologies: mainly Sparx, ArchiMate 3.1, but also BPMS and UML
- Ability to understand and apply long-term vision ( big picture ) and tactical needs
- Extensive experience with different types of technologies
- Good communication skills with the business and the C level of the organization
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to provide methodical and thorough work with attention to detail
