Job Title: Valuations Manager (Product Control)
Location: London Hybrid 2- 3 days in office
Contract length: 12 months
Rate: £500 per day PAYE or £649.17 via umbrella


Our client are currently seeking an experienced Valuations Manager to join their team in the London office/remote working, this contract will be for 12 months with a review to be extended.

Role Purpose
The Valuations and Analytics Group in Product Control is a global team responsible for all aspects of the calculation of fair value for traded instruments in Global Markets and additionally undertakes oversight and support for fair value calculations across the rest of Group (predominantly Global Banking and Corporate Centre). The Valuations and Analytics Group is part of Global Product Control and is split into 4 main areas of (1) Quantitative Analytics including Models (2) Fair Value Methodology (3) Production, and (4) Reporting, Governance & Analysis.

The role of Manager Non-GM Valuations is a senior position within the Product Control Structure. Reporting into the Global head of Non-Global Markets Valuations. This is a role with considerable remit across several areas and a wide set of senior stakeholders across the firm. The role holder will also be required to deputise and cover for the Head of Non-GM where necessary. The individual will manage valuations for Non-Global Markets businesses, including Strategic Innovative Investments (SII), Principal investments (PI), Syndication and other non-GM businesses. The role holder will have to independently drive conversations on valuations with these stakeholders who are responsible for their respective businesses. The individual will have oversight of an important Fair Value adjustment globally.

Major Challenges
  • Senior set of stakeholders with very wide dispersion across the Bank.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective management of the IPV, FVA and PVA processes and to ensure that regulatory standards are met.
  • Rapid response to issues as they arise. Ability to drive quickly to the heart of an issue and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Relationships within and around Product Control, Finance, teams.

Role Context
  • This is a critical role that covers valuation processes in an area of strategic importance. This is a senior role that will run considerable adjustments to the P&L.
  • Experience in private equity valuations would be ideal.

Management of Risk
  • The role requires an understanding of as well as compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the job holder is involved. This includes internal controls and any compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group compliance policy.
  • Be aware of the operational risk context associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications
  • 5 years plus experience within Financial Services
  • MNA's, private equity, capital finance experience
  • Math's Degree
  • Understanding of the key work undertaken within the valuations group
  • Start up/unlisted valuation experience
  • Stakeholder focused, with relationship building, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, ability to think laterally
  • Keen sense of urgency - able to achieve results quickly
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong collaborative partnerships
  • High level of professional and personal integrity
  • Good understanding of the financial markets.
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
