Accountant - Balance Sheet Review/Governance
My global blue chip client requires an Accountant to join on an interim 3 months contract which could run on for longer with the possibility of permanent work thereafter. This role is based in Chester with the option to work from home 50% of the working week and is paying £26.37/hour.
Primarily this role will partner with Record to Report operations, governing and being the global point of contact for the Balance Sheet Review, Knowledge Management and Problem Management processes.
Job Responsibilities
Governance of Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including:
* Subject Matter Expert for SOP relating to Balance Sheet Review and Monitoring
* Monitor and ensure adherence to applicable SOP
* Maintain the Reconciliations Playbook
* Creation of daily targets and monitoring of monthly Balance Sheet review process including applicable follow up and escalation
* Coordinate monthly quality assurance review
* Lead monthly regional balance sheet review meetings
* Creation of Dashboards to evaluate data, analyse associated data to identify trends and drive improvements in quality
* Ongoing reviews of underlying data to identify opportunities for simplification and efficiency.
* Management of Annual Risk Assessment cycle
* Host training sessions and manage user specific enquiries relating to Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Required Skills & Desired Experience
* Accounting background/professional qualification desirable but not essential
* Excellent working knowledge of record to report processes in a multinational company.
* Experience in presenting and providing training to large audiences
* Degree in accounting or equivalent business experience
* Fluent in English.
* Excellent computer skills with competencies in MS Applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and major ERP platforms (preference SAP).
* Excellent working knowledge of record to report processes in a multinational company.
