Vendor Manager, Hybrid working, £500 per day Outside IR35
Environment:- Exp 2 years +,
Vendors, Applications, Software, Software Vendor Management, Prince2, Agile, Waterfall, QA, UAT.

My client, a leading finance organisation is looking for an experienced Vendor & Applications Manager to join their IT team.

Role Requirements:-

Knowledge and experience in delivering/implementing software solutions from a project perspective

Experience in software vendor management, dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Organised, attentive to detail, tech savvy, confident.

Good business acumen and overall professionalism.
4 years of experience in a similar role.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The successful candidate will have had 4 years + exp in Vendor/Application Management looking after many applications to meet business needs.

You will work with the Technology team, key business stakeholders and software providers to ensure project delivery and governance is of a high standard, business requirements are logged, and all aspects of the software providers account are accurate and actively managed.

Your style will be hands on, you will want to actively contribute to deliverables; you will be highly organiseded, attentive to detail and proactive and see all aspects of the project life cycle through to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of allocated software vendor accounts - ensuring relevant account details are recorded; business approved, and signed contracts are in place and stored correctly; support and training information is accurate and available to the business.
  • Proactively review contract renewal dates, review software usage and determine fit-for-purposes/cost-benefit.
  • Research alternative solutions that may decrease overall cost, increase efficiency or provide a better service.
  • Support various business departments by being the conduit between business and software providers.
  • Own and manage the delivery of software solutions, working with business and software providers, ensuring correct implementation practices are used, and that projects are fully completed in line with business requirements and quality expectations, on time and within budget.
  • Maintain effective communication between project participants, ensuring a good working relationship with all delivery teams and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct contract negotiations, ensuring business requirements exist and are met, alternative solutions are researched and completing cost-benefit analysis to ensure business receives the best value-for-money.
  • Produce and maintain project, resource and quality plans, track risks, issues and actions to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Own and manage the delivery of a variety of Technology and Business led projects using agreed project management methods, ensuring they are fully completed in line with business requirements and quality expectations, on time and within budget.
  • Manage risks and issues effectively and play a pro-active part in problem resolution.
  • Management and reporting of all project stages to provide structure and control throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensure requirements are managed effectively and scope controlled throughout project life cycle.
  • Control implementation and release management to ensure smooth transition to live operation and handover to business and Technology operational teams.
  • Provide support to end users so that the success of a project can be effectively measured after its implementation into live operation.
  • As necessary, review QA and UAT test scripts
  • Manage UAT with end users including coordination and user acceptance signoff.
  • Prepare user documentation and training documentation as necessary.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience in performing all the above-stated tasks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with innovative thinking.
  • Demonstrable experience of full life cycle project management implementations for small to medium sized projects.
  • Experience/knowledge of structured Project Management methodologies.
  • Good at preparing and tracking project plans and budgets.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of systems analysis techniques, gathering and documenting systems solutions and documenting solution designs.
  • Ability to prepare business cases, feasibility studies, functional specifications and requirements statements.
  • Experience in process mapping and documentation.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Demonstrable experience working to structured Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Likely to have a 2-4 years professional experience in a similar role.
  • PRINCE2 (or other PM methodology) training - desirable.
