Description
Lorien Global are working with an established Financial Services organisation with a view to recruit a Senior ALM/Capital Management Actuary on a day rate contract for 6 months to join their busy Actuarial team.
The role will be outside of IR35 and can be based remotely with occasional visits to an office closest to where you reside.
You will be a seasoned contractor with experience of working on an array of projects such as Solvency II, ALM, QRTs and Balance sheet management. You will be available to start ASAP and have experience of providing guidance and leadership on projects.
Duties include:
- To monitor the capital position of the business and take a leading role within the Balance Sheet Management Team in maintaining an appropriate level of capital.
- To understand the risks to Life Company balance sheet and lead in managing these within risk appetite.
- To lead the development of proposals to optimise the group's capital position.
- To lead the safe embedding of Internal Model and other change into the Balance Sheet Management team.
- To support the Open Business in embedding changes to the Internal Model into pricing
- To maintain key Capital Management methodologies in response to Internal Model and other business changes
Person Specification:
- A qualified actuary with significant post-qualification industry experience in areas such as financial reporting, capital management and ALM.
- Very strong technical ability.
- Up to date knowledge of industry/regulatory developments in respect of financial management and regulatory capital assessments.
- Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and develop other team members at qualified actuary level
- Ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to lead the delivery of team objectives from end to end
- Ability to achieve challenging objectives within designated timeframes
- Ability to build and deliver on project plans, managing risks and dependencies and communicating these to steering committees and other senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including Board level
