SAP Solution Architect for a large ECC 6 Programme based in the UK on a Contract basis for 6 months initially.

You will need to be a proven, hands on SAP Solution Architect with extensive SAP SuccessFactors and HR experience. Multiple FULL Lifecycle SAP Solution Architect and ability to work unsupervised.

Implementation Arrangements:

The Consultant shall work under the direct supervision of and report to the Service/Software Delivery Manager and the Chief Solution Architect on all activities as specified in the section "Deliverables".
The Bank shall not seek to exercise any direction, control, or supervision over the Consultant's working methods in the provision of services. Within the scope of services, the Consultant shall complete their work in adherence to relevant Bank policies, process and standards.


* The Consultant will contribute to the following activities, and work across the project team and the Bank to ensure tasks and goals are delivered on time and adhere to defined quality standards:
* Responsible for the solution architecture for the Finance Transformation program and SAP transformation, aligning to the strategic vision, set by the Capability Lead Architect.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (consultancy firms, software vendors, service providers, etc.) to identify and analyse solution options, providing technical steer for the projects and BAU teams.
* Responsible for the solution architecture documentation and taking it through the governance.
* Ensure that solutions are an appropriate balance between short-term delivery needs and medium/long-term strategic aspirations. All deviations from agreed roadmaps should be explicit and agreed through appropriate governance.
* Accountable for the delivery of the chosen solution through the whole delivery life cycle, working with various IT teams and plugging the technical gaps as needed.
* Technical guidance and advice in shaping the solutions.
* Ensuring that architectures and designs are an appropriate balance between short-term delivery needs and medium-term strategic aspirations. All deviations from the ideal solution should be explicit and agreed through appropriate governance.
* Cross-programme alignment of architectures, applications and data to provide consistency and quality across the solution.
* Build and maintenance of catalogues and models at appropriate levels of abstraction.
* Identify and drive the resolution or Remedy of issues and risks relating to the items above.
* Proposition of appropriate technologies and techniques for meeting challenges in the programme.
* Presentation and explanation of architecture matters in governance and other fora where appropriate

Experience Technical:

* Extensive experience in the solution architecture across a range of platforms and business domains
* Deep technical knowledge of at least on SAP application (preferably SAP ECC v 6) and also SuccessFactors
* Proven experience in the lead solution architect role delivering large projects (£5mln+).
* Experience in SAP migration/transformation,
* Ability to work across various technologies within the specific domain
* Proven ability to transform wide-ranging business requirements and strategic aspirations into concise solution options within the set strategic vision and technical constraints
* Excellent understanding of the project delivery life cycle
* Wide-ranging experience of IT projects throughout the implementation life cycle
* Ability to develop deep business knowledge and offer advice that spans across IT and business domains.
* Awareness of the leading industry trends in the architectural domain
* Good formal modelling skills, including UML
* Actively engaged and aware of current developments in architecture and related disciplines, tools and markets
* Previous experience implementing HR packaged solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors or Workday HCM


* Experience in drafting and presenting design and decision papers
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience of large IT and Business Change programmes
* Able to work effectively across multiple cross-functional teams and contexts, responding to their differing needs and levels of expertise, in an Agile delivery model
* Experience in documenting and presenting architectural artefacts to the senior stakeholders, both IT and the business, and architectural governance process
* Experience operating in mid-sized corporate environment with technological Legacy
* Experience in shaping the architecture in agile environment
* Proven experience in working collaboratively with the challenging stakeholders
* Demonstrable evidence of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
* Ability to make decisions in the environment of uncertainty with clear articulation of assumptions and risks.
* Experience working with financial services - advantage
