Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Reporting to: Director – Planning & Design
Department: Ha – Planning & Design
Job Function: Design and supervise the implementation of said design on all aspects of Electrical works on National Guard Health Affairs facilities.
Duties:
- To liaise closely with Engineers/ Architects of P & D to develop and design all electrical requirements in New Works, i.e. modifications, alterations, adaptations and new construction.
- Ensures that all electrical designs conforms to International Standards, i.e. NFPA Life Safety Code, Health Care Facilities, NEC and JCAHO.
- Follow up all design work to ensure that during the implementation of a project all electrical design criteria are met.
- Prepares full design package, specification and scope of work for any proposed electrical project.
- Carries out functional planning, budgeting and scheduling for major electrical capital projects.
- Provides electrical technical direction in defining and evaluating requirements for future space and services.
- Analyses and evaluates electrical installations/ equipment in existing buildings/ facilities in coordination with U & M. Identifies and make proposals for correcting deficiencies.
- Evaluates the electrical aspects of submitted “design packages” which have been prepared by outside consultancies.
- Sets performance standards and conducts performanceappraisals of all personnel reporting to this position.
- Acts as the person Technically Responsible(P.T.R.) when assigned, for an approved sub-contracted project.
- Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Engineering College.
Experience:
- Require minimum 10 years’ experience in Electrical Design and to include experience in a tertiary care bed hospital.
- Knowledge of international standards/ codes of practices such as NEC, NFP A-HCF & JCAHO is required.
- Must have expert certification in computer proficiency level, must have a clear understanding of efficient standards of working performance, with a knowledge of rating such standards
- English Language must be level I-E.
- Arabic Language Skills: Beneficial Computer Skills: Expertin computerproficiencylevel.
