Production Manager

Description

• This position is responsible for the management of foam production through first-line supervision.
• Ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met.
• Review all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget, finance plan, plant operating goals, and develop continuous improvement plans.
• Sets objectives and targets and creates effective action plans for Shift Managers, Team Leaders and PTM's.
• Responsible to provide a safe work environment for all employees and to ensure that health, safety and environment is the top priorty for all employees.
• To allocate responsibilities and resources and develop systems to ensure achievement.
• Member of Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing TQM and Best Methods Programs.
• To lead and promote activities to improve the team's performance.
• Works closely with other managers to ensure business performance is maximised.

• College / University graduate with strong communication and demonstrable organisational and leadership skills, coupled with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two (2) years at the managerial level, or equivalent education and experience, responsible for a large team.
• Good planning and organisation skills are essential.
• Constantly looks to improve the section, gathers information challenges assumptions and questions the status quo. Prepared to take the necessary action to achieve objectives. Identifies opportunities and develops new ideas.
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills, including planning, leading, delegating, working knowledge of assembly operation process, cost centre management including budgeting, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirement.
• Knowledge of the requirements of collective agreements and health & safety and environment and employment legislation.
• Working knowledge and experience in Lean 5S and Continuous Improvement principles.
