Senior Procurement Specialist working alongside the procurement team to establish an effective and efficient use of planning and implementing best practices across all areas of procurement in a global life science company.Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist
Location: Athlone
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 offered for this job along with performance bonus, pension, life assurance and health-care.
As the senior procurement specialist you would need SAP experience as well as strong working knowledge of procurement practises and procedures. You should be active and ambitious and a strong team player.
The Job as Senior Procurement specialist:
- You will have daily dealings with external vendors.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed in a manner that complies with all CGMP, Quality, EHSS Requirements and financial guidance.
- Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best procurement practices.
- As Senior Procurement Specialist you will ensure orders are placed and delivered on time and no stock outs occur.
- Perform procurement KPIs reports and analysis
- Review vendor quotes for terms and conditions prior to placing purchase orders.
- Assist in the preparation of annual department budget.
- Ensuring that CAPEX and service contracts are fit for purpose and need industry needs.
- Work cross functionally on project teams to implement the changes necessary to deliver significant cost savings and agreed targets.
- Present information requested by internal/external audit groups.

Technical Skills needed as Senior Procurement Specialist:
- ERP experience is essential, preferably SAP
- Minimum 5 year's experience in a procurement role.
- Strong communication skills
- Highly analytical
- Attention to detail
- Experience in an FDA/EMEA regulated environment.
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, Finance or related area
- IIPMM or IPICS qualification
