Ref. 106829
Location: Venlo, NL

Duration: to be determined

Start date: ASAP

Introduction:
The Materials & Device Technology Development (MDT) department is part of the Research and Development organisation in Venlo. MDT assures the development of competitive products by realising the involved print (imaging) processes with the right print quality and reliability. MDT also takes care of development and engineering of the strategic consumables and modules that are essential in the printing process.
Position's main tasks:
For a new ink development, the impact of the quality of the ink-ingredients in relation to the intrinsic quality level has to be determined and secured.
To secure the quality, we want to correlate the chemical fingerprint of the ink to the ink-performance (print quality). Within this context we are looking for an experienced chemometrist.
The main activities involve:

- setting up chemometric tooling to relate the chemical fingerprint of the ink (ingredients) and their impurities to the ink performance
- based on the chemometrics derive specifications for the ink-ingredients and processing of the ink
- provide a proof of principle for using chemometrics to secure ink.
Required area of education: Chemistry with experience in chemometrics
Professional skills:
The ideal candidate should:
- closely work together with colleagues from the analysis department and the ink/printer developers
- have experience with chemometrics and preferable experience with setting up chemometrics tooling
- have a solid background in (in)organic chemistry or material sciences
- be pragmatic and result-oriented without compromising the quality of the work.
Behavioural skills:
- hands-on mentality
- team player
Working experience with chemometrics in a R&D environment is a plus.
