Eden Scott’s prestigious banking client based in Glasgow city centre have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join their Enterprise Data Services team.You will be a Technical Business Analyst with Data Warehousing/BI background demonstrating excellent stakeholder management, client relationship, and team working skills. Proficiency in Oracle SQL and Reporting knowledge will complement technical expertise.
Responsibilities:
• Support various Technology Functions, the wider business community and our delivery partners to shape requirements for application design that meets both operational and strategic needs.
• Transformation of business requirements into quality technical system requirements
• Understand the various business operations across the Bank and delivering actionable insights based on data analysis
• Demonstrating a strong subject matter expertise through analysis of information requirements on complex data-driven projects
• Translating complex system designs into easily understood representations of the data flows/processes through Logical data models
• Creating source to target data mappings and collating metadata to develop data dictionaries
• Managing Project Stakeholders, both in Technology and across the Business, to achieve the best outcomes for the Bank.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives by delivering analysis to industry best practice to further strengthen our analysis capability
Experience required should include:
• Dimensional Data Modelling – star schemas, logical v physical, facts/dimensions
• Oracle SQL
• Experience of working on Financial Regulatory projects
• Experience of Data Warehouse/Data Migration projects
• Data Marts
• BI technologies e.g. BOXI, Cognos
• ETL technologies e.g BODI, IBM Data Stage
• UML/Use Case diagrams

• Data Profiling e.g. using Toad, SQL Developer, Trillium
• Metadata – Business/Technical
• Rational Requirements Composer/Rational Team Concert
• Prototyping
• Source to Target Mappings – knowledge/experience of data transformations

• Strong Communication skills – ask right questions to drive out requirements, ability to translate business into technical requirements, ability to walkthrough analysis output to different audiences
• Challenge in a collaborative way – work with other teams/individuals to identify solutions, challenge where something not right & make suggestions for improved way of working
• Continuous Engagement with Key stakeholders – ensure stakeholders engaged and manage expectations
• Experience of Leading/mentoring less experienced individuals
