I am a very experienced Java developer, but know nothing about php or WP. I am building a website with my daughter and need to expand WP functionality. I figure I could pick up the necessary knowledge fairly quickly, however:1) I am a Kinesthetic learner and learn by doing
2) I just had shoulder surgery and am a couple of weeks or more away from using that arm to type
3) We are kind of in a hurry
If you are applying then you've done this same thing before, so it should be a quick project.
We have a data input form with maybe forty questions. The questions are almost all multiple-choice, and represented by radio buttons. There are two free-form text fields, and two data driven drop-down fields (second field selections controlled by value in first field ... Make and model, essentially)
In addition to our readers entering data, they need to query against the same table. Free form fields are not in query. The radio buttons are now check boxes. If I select two check boxes on Question01, the where clause would be something like:
where Question01 in ("3", "5")
On the query, they can select as many or as few items as they want. The query would bring up a summary page with links to the full records meeting the criteria. The full records could be displayed in a read-only version of the entry screen.
If this seems like too minor a project, maybe you can provide example code from one of your sites.
How much would a plugin (or other approach) for this cost in US dollars? I am not a rich man (especially with my arm in a sling), but I respect that you deserve to be rewarded for your talent and efforts.
