Urgent! 3 Months Project - Development Engineer Medical Devices (Nord Switzerland)With quality products within the Medical Device industry my client is one of the market leaders in the industry.
The open position is a Development Engineer (3-5 yrs. Orthopedic or Medical Device experience)
Job Summary
Responsible for the design and processing of implants and instruments. Work is expected to encompass maintenance of existing products. Position may be required to lead small scope project.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies all tasks required to complete project assignments according to Design Control and other applicable procedures
- Has strong interactions with the Quality Department
- Is strongly involved in the creation of product inspection planning documents
- Is defining the criticality of the dimensions to be checked in final inspections
- Contributes to generation of a comprehensive protocol for testing/analyzing the product
- Prepares definitive new product specifications or modifies existing specifications
- Generates or updates design assurance documentation for the product
Expected Areas of Competence
- Full working knowledge and experience with product development, design controls and FDA
- Quality System Regulation and ISO Standards for medical devices
- Demonstrated ability to methodically investigate, determine appropriate solution and resolve problems using current technology
- Ability to develop project schedule and assess cross functional team's progress on assignments relative to project schedule
- Professional, concise, tactful and sensitive in communications. Accomplishes objectives when communicating with internal personnel, and external customers and vendors.
- Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Working knowledge of drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Assures preproduction quality requirements are met
- Microsoft Office Suite and Project
- Knowledge of CAD software tools Solidworks and /or NX Unigraphics is a plus
