C++ Software engineer Needed - Chester - Upto £55,000 DOEThe ideal Software Engineer will enjoy problem solving and be able to talk openly on a number of topics related to software development, programming and testing. They will currently be spending the majority of there time designing and creating software, they will have experience solving a number of different types of problem. It's likely that they will be proficient in several languages (i.e. not just C++).
Software design / problem solving skills:
Experience writing specifications
Experience with design tools
Can demonstrate disciplined and structured approach, but does not need a process
Will consider that most things can be automated (i.e. had the thought that they could probably automate their boss given the time)
5+ years experience in C++ development with a sound understanding of:
Object Orientation
memory management
threads
general principles
Experience developing on windows experience with:
MFC
COM
Native windows driver development
Experience working on projects both as part of a team and individually:
- in different industry sectors or solving different types of problems
- working on both large and small code bases
- working with unfamiliar/undocumented code
Experience of agile software development strategies and typical software house type processes:
Experience with source control
Test driven development
Coding styles
Nice to have:
SQL
C#
VHDL
