Contract Lead Software Engineer - DOORS/DFMEA

Rate £22 - 30ph

Contract Software Engineer experienced in DOORS, DFMEA needed for the Automotive project for a global Engineering client.

The purpose of this role is to lead software control development programs for vehicles, being part of the stability control systems team.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to demonstrate his/her co-ordination of project management, along with demonstrated technical skills in the field of software in automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

*Responsible for the design and delivery of Stability Control Systems Modulators (related to safety and control for driver under extreme driving conditions) of Braking systems, its mountings and software releases for a vehicle platform.
*Lead an internal team and the suppliers
*Deliver cascaded targets as Quality/Time/Cost
*Manage Bill of Materials, parts procurement and change management to support all prototype and pre-production vehicle builds
*Lead a weekly project management meeting to coordinate activities with your interfacing team members and suppliers
*Report delivery status at management reviews
*Own and manage design verification and final validation.
*Own and apply appropriate quality tools. eg DFMEA, quality history reviews, interface analysis
*Lead the resolution of system issues as required applying appropriate quality tools. eg Cause & Effect analysis, 6 Sigma.

Essential skills:

*Strong communication skills in English
*Capacity to work in an international environment
*Experience of working to ISO 26262
*5+ years' experience demonstrated in software control development.
*Understanding of Chassis specific regulations
*Knowledge of Stability Control Systems.
*Experience with software development cycle (high level specification, software architectural design, coding, software verification cases and procedures, integration tests, safety requirement verification tests)
*Knowledge of Control Systems theory
*Systems engineering, failure mode avoidance
*Experience in development of complex systems using a Systems Engineering approach
*Knowledge of basic quality engineering tools - including FMEA and robust application of Lessons Learnt from previous programmes
*Direct experience with an OEM would be appreciated.
*Ability to undertake problem solving analysis
*Proactivity, risk analysis capacity.
*Knowledge about DOORS.
