Description

As a Solutions Analyst you will play a key role in providing pre-project consultancy and analysis, which will help to drive out and shape requirements for change projects within the Companies technology portfolio. The focus will be on analysing and recommending solutions to meet a set of requirements surrounding the authentication of clients across Standard Life Investments global systems. This covers both external facing static web sites and internal facing transactional applications. The successful candidate must therefore demonstrate a broad understanding of the digital environment, with a particular focus on information security & authentication.

You will be a good all round analyst, who has experience of working in the feasibility space, eg writing estimates, scope documents and ideally be an analyst who has worked in a technology team and understands technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a conduit between the business and technology by conducting investigations at a high level for feasibility studies. Maintains technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed, modelled and classified according to technical feasibility and non-functional characteristics. Ensures that views of all parties are considered, verified and validated within the stakeholder community. Ensures appropriate prioritisation is applied to meet business objectives
  • To ensure that solutions are architected, designed and delivered to meet the non-functional demands of the business and customer, match expectations for quality and reliability and contribute to the evolution of the systems towards the strategic technical architecture.
  • To apply available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way, and produce a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature.
  • To manage several deliverables across multiple programmes and projects. Ensuring alignment to the enterprise-wide architecture and processes which ensure that the strategic application of technology is Embedded in the management of the organisation.
  • To develop the strategic response to the business requirement and inputting to business cases for the recommended new solution in relation to the associated applications and technologies.
  • Planning, arranging and facilitating meetings, workshops and relations with client/user staff during Feasibility. Taking responsibility and ownership where appropriate for the inputs and outputs to ensure that they retain the required level of detail for this phase of the project.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working in or closely with a Technology team
  • Significant experience working as an analyst using industry standard analysis techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to all levels in the organisation
  • Broad understanding of the digital environment, with a particular focus on information security & authentication
  • 3rd party vendor engagement, tendering, RFI/RFP, solution evaluation & selection processes

Desirable

  • Experience of providing estimates, ranging from programmes of work to small projects
  • Experience of developing strategies for a business unit or specialist area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint
  • Previous experience of producing business cases for technology projects
