Description

Our client located in Cleveland, OH is currently hiring an experienced Web Designer for a 4 month contract position. Junior and mid level designers are encouraged to apply!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Develop, edit and maintain website and email newsletters using responsive design techniques.
2. Develop sites according to web standards and guidelines for style and code such as university computer use policies, relevant laws (eg, 508 compliance and copyright), etc.
3. Define site objectives by analysing user requirements; envisioning ways to simplify and improve features and functionality when appropriate.
4. Interact regularly with team (and occasionally clients) to determine their needs and to develop plans for improving site migrations.
5. Comply with established standards and protocols of websites.
6. Perform quality assurance and testing of existing code structures including browser, platform, and functional testing and debugging.
7. Assist in monitoring and analysing web-related statistics after sites go live.
8. Select, edit and size images for web usage

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and 2 years of relevant progressive experience - OR - 4 years of relevant progressive experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

1. Knowledge of web standards, accessibility, responsive design, usability, CSS, HTML5, bootstrap
2. 2+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator)
3. Ability to translate a Photoshop mockup into HTML/CSS
4. Mac platform
5. Knowledge of current and emerging multi-media and/or website development software and applications.
6. Knowledge of web standards and protocols including usability and accessibility standards.
7. Ability to work with tight deadlines/fast turnaround times
8. Strong attention to detail, collective reasoning, and creative problem solving in changing environment
9. Experience in leading development projects and documenting work.
10. Ability to work well in a team environment.
11. Ability to recognize the importance of certain tasks and responsibilities and the ability to prioritize to ensure that deadlines are met.
