Service Design Architect

My client is currently seeking a Service Design Architect for an amazing life changing opportunity with a market leading BlueChip company. The lucky candidate can work at any one of their many European office locations and will also have the chance to travel around Europe for short-term engagements.

Service Design Architect

Lead discussions with customer's Enterprise architect and IT director and share point of view, provide solution and case experience that are relevant to customer context.

Key responsibilities of the Service Design Architect

  • Sprint RST
  • REST interface
  • Extensive software design experience using Java platform
  • Service Oriented Architecture Design using JAX-WS, JAX-RS, WS-Security, REST/SOAP/HTTP, WSDL, XML/XSD (Schemas), MQ or equivalent technologies
  • Enterprise Integration Patter
  • Service contract
  • Service governance
  • Service Model
  • Ability to clearly understand Service oriented and REST base architecture
  • Hands on experience in Designing and Implementing RESTFUL services using be-spoke or API mgmt solution
  • Good working knowledge on API Mgmt tools that include gateways, ESB, monitoring, governance tools
  • Design experience of distributed systems with a focus on Back End integration
  • ESB knowledge

Supervisory/Managerial responsibilities

  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to independently manage teams, during multiple phases of the project life cycle
  • Team size of 2 - 5 Technical architects spread across multiple locations

Key Skills/Knowledge: of the Service Design Architect

  • Proven experience of complex, large scale digital solution design & implementations and successfully managing key stakeholders, customer teams and/or project teams

Architecture and Solution Design

  • Strong leadership qualities to set priorities, arrive/guide architecture decisions, defining target/reference architecture and steer digital transformation roadmap definition
  • Ability to define and manage the architecture and design guidelines for portfolio of projects and participating in critical design reviews

Methodology and Domain Focus

  • Excellent proficiency and practical experience in architectural development methods such as TOGAF, Zachman Framework
  • Sound understanding of Development operations, Agile, continuous integration

Insurance knowledge is a plus.

Experience required of the Service De

  • Minimum of 3 end to end implementation experiences related to Digital and Web Technology
  • PreSales and Consulting engagements

Special working conditions (travel, on call etc):

Flexibility to travel across UK and Continental Europe. Flexibility to take up short term consulting engagements
