Senior Specialist: Mobile Data Systems
We are currently recruiting for our client, a Global Telecommunications Organisation for Senior Specialist: Mobile Data Systems to join their project in Uganda.

Accountable for the operational delivery and to lead and be a key resource in the section tasked with the operations responsibility of running all Mobile Data Platforms (2G/3G/4G) Packet Core network, ADC, MMSC Value Add systems, WIFI & CDMA Data networks and their integrations to the Radio Access Networks, Charging Platforms and aid Solution designs like Private APNs, QoS etc on these platforms
Responsibilities:
- Maintain at all times the targeted services availability for all Mobile Data Platforms (2G/3G) Packet Core network, ADC, MMSC Value Add systems, WIFI & PDSN/CDMA Data networks.
- Engineer and operate network architecture with a specific vendor 2G/3G Packet Core, PDSN, IP Core routing, AAA, PCRFs, DPI nodes and Firewalls using multi-vendor routing equipment
- Working with GRX and Data Roaming partners in various geographies round the world to implement Data roaming and troubleshoot roaming incidents.
- Understand client requirements and respond to Planning/Solution documentation of customer solutions like enterprise Private APNs, QoS and cost rating.
- Handle all integration projects extending to the critical interfaces including IuCS, IuPS, Gn, Gi, Gx, Gy
- Ensure product Quality by vendors during projects delivery - Reviewing the quality of high level designs, detailed designs, data configurations and test plans and implementation procedures.
- Manage multiple incidents and requests from customers and execute work orders for customer deployment and internal infrastructure support, in accordance with their respective SLAs.
- Adapt & document operations routine and implementation procedures for the Mobile Data Solutions infrastructure which support efficient equipment installations & fault resolution by rapid troubleshooting of customer issues.
- Develop, implement and manage Information and Network Security policies, procedures and controls as per the company's policies as well as global best practice.
- Work with the planning team in preparing technical plans & related optimized CAPEX for network growth and expansion.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of service and supply to Mobile Data Solutions and periodically review and ensure agreed SLAs are met by vendors and support partners in relation to service delivery
- Ensure proper management of the IPF evaluation cycle and the identification of talent within the section (to be referred as and when need arises)
Qualifications/Professional experiences Required:
- BSc Electrical or Telecoms, Data Communications or Computer Science Degree.
- Business Processes Framework training (ITIL) is a must have
- ICT Networks industry certifications & Packet core networks training.
- Above 4 years of proven operations/planning experience with Mobile Packet Core Networks (WIFI,GSM/EDGE, WCDMA (3G) and/or LTE (4G)
- Should have excellent understanding of Telecom packet core network architecture, interfaces, protocols and services for GPRS, UMTS networks.
- Broad and detailed knowledge of IP based fixed and mobile network technology that includes design, implementation, and operations of soft switching, TCP/IP, SIP, SIGTRAN, MAP, GTP,RANAP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS and IPv6 Basics
- Dynamic professional with team supervisory experience.
