We are currently recruiting for our client, a Global Telecommunications Organisation for Senior Specialist IP/MPLS Networks to join their project in Uganda.

Position Title: Senior Specialist IP/MPLS Networks
Position Type: Contract

Senior Specialist for IP/MPLS Networks performs all operational tasks to provide 24/7, 365 days IP/MPLS connectivity & services availability that meets internal and external customers' expectations and performs internal driven systems integration to the MPBN

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all fault resolution efforts, operations, testing, and implementing core/edge Routers, Switches, Firewalls, interconnections, configurations & updates on IP/MPLS networks and DCNs.
- Handle Third Party systems integrations to the IP/MPLS network and MPBN.
- Be involved with planning team/vendors in expansion efforts and growth designs and roll out of IP/MPLS network, for new PoPs and switching centers.
- Maintain and support complex bespoke customer MPLS network solutions by Providing top line support for networking technical solutions to customers
- Liaise with technical teams, providers and partners to resolve issues and offer technical support.
- Maintain Internet Exchange Points connectivity.
- Test new products and services and develop tools to help provide, manage or troubleshoot the network.
- Provide a secure network infrastructure for triple play application layer (voice, video and data services)
- Consulting in the definition of strategic technology direction relating to corporate infrastructure for the business customers that we serve and assist with technical implementation support,including site visits.
- Ensuring assigned service desk tasks and support issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate inventory and standardized network diagrams and support accreditation efforts.
- Manage, monitor, sustain and secure network devices to include Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Out of Band Managers, VPN concentrators and access control systems.
- Prepares network users (internal and external) by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support through workshops and boot camps.
- Meet financial requirements by submitting information inputs for OPEX/CAPEX budgets; monitoring expenses

Qualifications/Professional experiences Required:
- Bachelor of Science (Engineering or Telecommunications), Data Communications Engineering or Computer Science Degree
- Above 5 years of proven operations/planning experience of Service Provider IP/MPLS networks
- Advanced knowledge of IP Routing based protocols: TCP/IP, SIGTRAN, BGP,IS-IS, MPLS and IPv6.
- Dynamic professional with team supervisory experience (3 years +)
- In depth understanding of IP/MPLS technology and service layers covering data/voice/signalling/video services
- Can do spirit driven by the customer centric approach towards tasks and work in general, strong interpersonal and communication
- Effective technical communications skills and great technical analytical skills
