Description

This is an amazing opportunity for a high calibre developer to join an ambitious and innovative company. You will be contributing to the design and maintainence of their purely greenfield server side of a real-time industry, energy trading platform.

Additionally, as an early joiner to this successful company, you would have a unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact on future business growth and success, shaping our tools, processes and even your own professional development and training.

Role responsibilities:

* Development of core software for the Energy Trading Platform.

* Delivering high-quality, tested and robust code that achieves the company's aims according to specification.

* Opportunity to contribute across a range of technical areas within the team, including: o Database design o Networking o Security o Protocol implementation o System configuration and management o User interaction o Integration with embedded systems

* Input into defining the tools and processes used within the software team

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

* Good degree in Computer Science or related discipline

* 2+ years of Java or similar OO design and development experience

* Understanding of multithreading, concurrency and related issues

* Knowledge of systems and network configuration

* Experience interfacing with MySQL (or another database)

* Exposure to version control tools and processes, such as Git

Desirable skills:

* Experience with unit test frameworks, e.g. Junit

* Good technical authoring (e.g. technical specifications)

* Experience with configuration management, deployment management and related tools

* Knowledge of key management and security issues
