Electronics Engineer/Hardware/Design/Contract/Nottingham/3 months

I am recruiting at present an experienced Electronics/Hardware Design Engineer for a 3 month project.

My client is an expert in telematics and fleet management technology with one mission to improve their customers efficiency and environmental impact by providing them with innovative electronic solutions.

You will work as part of the hardware development team and be responsible for:

  • Component selection and evaluation
  • Schematic design and PCB layout
  • Developing requirements for related test tools like test setups, test circuits and scripts for automated tests
  • Development and follow up of hardware validation programs for the electronics

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Schematic design, simulation, and PCB design (Proteus)
  • Experience with ARM/ST Microelectronic microprocessors
  • Software development in 'C'
  • RF experience (use of GSM/GPS modules/antennas)
  • Automotive PSUs/vehicle transient protection
  • Automotive EMC, EU R&TTE, FCC, Product Safety, GSM testing/approvals
  • Design of end of line production test systems using Labview
  • Project planning/management

The following skills and experience would be an advantage

  • Previous automotive experience
  • CAN interfaces
  • Li-ion battery charging

This is an urgent requirement with interviews taking place next week with an ideal start date of Monday 2nd November 2015.
