Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the elaboration and implementation of reference architecture for information system development.
  • Provide architectural advisory services towards the clients in line with the reference architecture.
  • At request of the IT governance bodies, assessing the architecture of IT projects from their early stages on in order to assure their architectural coherence/convergence. Validate the architecture of information systems.
  • Build, maintain and support reusable components, frameworks and services, endorsed by the appropriate governance bodies, in order to facilitate the development of information systems.
  • Provide leadership across methodologies for project management and IT software engineering in terms of advisory services, coaching, training and building communities of practice.
  • Organise, manage and support the application life cycle management platforms and services.
  • Act as coordinator for innovation in information systems
  • Contribute to new IT strategies and projects.
  • Act as key client contact point for information systems. Assure the liaison with other directorates.

The wishes to obtain the expertise of an Enterprise Architect to further define, develop and implement its Enterprise Architecture duties.

TASK DESCRIPTION

Non-exhaustive list of the tasks to be carried out:

Contributing to

  • further development of the BPM methodology and training modules to facilitate resources optimisation, in particular process streamlining
  • delivery of BPM related training sessions
  • consulting, coaching and advisory services for BPM initiatives, such as facilitating process modelling and improvement workshops, advising on BPM/EA projects
  • carrying out business process analysis: quality review of process models, analysis of business process models stored in the repository, identification of commonalities and proposition of process streamlining
  • Assistance in gathering relevant data for the BPM repository: Process Glossary content, BPM workshops, etc.
  • ability to create relevant reports based on the information stored in the Enterprise Repository (ARIS)
  • assistance in the elaboration of a corporate business glossary and corporate data models
  • assistance in establishing the role of BPM in the SOA strategy
  • further development of BPM Community of Practice

REQUIRED EXPERTISE

  • Sound knowledge and proved experience in the area of Enterprise Architecture, in particular process and information systems modelling and analysis; good understanding of BPM in an Enterprise Architecture context
  • Expertise with the Enterprise Architecture modelling tools (ARIS, Enterprise Architect, etc.)
  • Expertise with the modelling notation BPMN 2.0 or EPC; knowledge of BPMN 2.0 standard would be an asset
  • Proven experience on Component Based Software Architecture
  • Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and understand new and complex domains very fast
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, on large projects
    • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
    • Fluent oral and written communication in English and French
