Description

A large, rapidly growing e-commerce company in central Birmingham are looking to enhance their development team with the addition of a new SQL Server Developer. Working in a team of three, you will support business and technology teams as necessary during design, development and delivery to ensure scalable and robust solutions.

Whilst the company are an established 'name' in the marketplace, their database development can be improved so the CTO has made the enhancement of the SQL Server and related data one of their foremost priorities heading into the new financial year. You can expect fast-paced, varied work with some of the latest technologies (a SQL 2014 migration planned), and will be fully supported in any training you may require (Microsoft Certifications etc).

The successful SQL Server Developer will have strong experience in the design and development of large-scale database systems. The position also requires strong analytical, design and development skills. You will be a quick learner who is highly motivated and willing to tackle new technologies while being able to work collaboratively as an integral part of a team or independently.

To apply you will need experience of the following
  • Minimum 5+ years of strong hand-on database development experience in SQL Server / T-SQL
  • Advance SQL programming skills
  • Experience in conducting application design and code reviews
  • Experience with building complex ETL systems
  • Understanding of database performance tuning in SQL Server
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively within specific timeframes
  • Excellent logical, analytical and communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies


The successful candidate will earn a starting salary of up to £45,000 plus an excellent benefits package including a very competitive pension scheme, 28 days annual leave and private healthcare.
