Client Summary:
My client is a global engineering organisation currently seeking a Validation and Verification Engineer to join their team in Derby. From their Derby base, they design and manufacture complex vehicles for use within the passenger transport industry. With locations across the globe this is a truly international organisation that is seen as a market leader in their sector.
Position Summary
This position requires a candidate who can assist in the delivery of the V&V activities for the various bids and projects currently being undertaken. This will involve analysing the requirements, standards and compliance levels in order to promote seamless homologation whilst eliminating technical risks.
You will be required to participate in the authorisation of solutions on live projects and review and critique other engineers' work to ensure that V&V reaches the necessary standards. Alongside this, you will need to track change requests for the project and produce KPI's and progress reports on such documentation.
Upon reviewing the V&V documentation/change requests, you will be expected to apply your knowledge of systems engineering, requirements and testing in order to feedback on any experienced gained that can be passed on to future projects.
This role will require a consistent approach to the reading of documentation in order to adhere to the strict standards that need to be upheld in the sector.
Person Profile/Experience:
You will need/have:
5+ years experience in a similar position
Experience of the application of standards
Experience of engineering change management
Experience with MS Office and Sharepoint
Experience with PDM
Excellent communication skills
Previous systems engineering experience ie V life cycle
Experience of product conformance testing
Ideally experience of Iron Bird' style development approaches
Ideally previous rolling stock experience
Qualifications:
Degree in an engineering discipline or relevant work experience
