SAP DATA WAREHOUSE Architect in MUMBAI

Qualifications & Experience
Desired candidate should have 5-10 years overall experience and will be responsible for the overall architecture, design and development of Data Warehouse and Data Mart Life Cycle from business requirements to development of logical design, translation to physical design, ETL code development and testing using standard ETL tools, design and development of Cubes and Business Intelligence analytics/reporting framework and solutions.
Master's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience as the architect
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Specific experience in SAP, HANA, Sybase IQ preferable
Knowledge and experience of working in a similar role in a Telco project preferable
Roles and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Senior Data Warehouse Architect is data standards and procedures, warehousing, design and development of logical and physical data models and databases, distributed data management, information management functions.
The Senior Data Warehouse Architect designs, develops and optimizes data warehouses, with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture, to support business users and Business Intelligence (BI) applications that will run on Sybase IQ + HANA (both Native and BW on HANA).
Job description for the Senior Data Warehouse Architect role includes:
Determine business information needs and identifies system requirements.
Analyze Business Intelligence data and provides reports.
Act as liaison between information technology and business units.
Ensure data accuracy.
Assess data extraction, report generation, and bugs appearing in operations involving the data warehouse.
Senior Data Warehouse Architect responsabilities:
Analyzes Business Intelligence data and makes recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration for the enterprise.
Works with IT and business customers to develop requirements for designing the data warehouse architecture.
Provides support and technical guidance to ensure architecture and framework are aligned with BI application needs.
Leads and consults on the implementation and integration of data warehouses; ensures data is current and meets organizational quality and integrity standards
To demonstrate Extensive experience in the Application Design, Architecture competency, one should demonstrate knowledge of and ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design
To map various source systems with heterogeneous databases to the Analytics platform which will broadly comprise of Sybase IQ/HANA systems
Recommend the right data replication/transfer tools for each source and target combination, considering the volume, complexity of the data and the frequency of the data transfer depending on whether the data is to be analyzed real or near Real Time basis.
Apply and help institute best practices, methodology and standards in DW, ETL and BI design and development to meet project requirements.
Help plan and maintain the physical technical infrastructure, its configuration, performance, and storage requirements.
Also responsible for administering ETL and BI tools and designing a scalable, highly available, fault tolerant, secure infrastructure for the Data Warehouse, ETL and BI platforms that meets enterprise needs.
Develop design & development specifications, and metadata documentation.
Translate business requirements into DW/ETL/BI Technical Design and coordinate with ETL & BI developers, DBA and System Administrators, Project Managers in the development, automation and maintenance of Data Warehouse (including data profiling, logical and physical models, documentation) and ETL work flows, jobs, batch scripts, Data Marts, Cubes and BI Applications
In terms of specific tasks, the above responsibilities will translate that the Data Warehouse Architect:
Develops various, distinct and multiple technical application designs.
Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
Facilitates in application design reviews and walkthroughs.
Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.
The Data Warehouse Architect is involved in the following data warehouse project phases:
1.- Requirements Specification
A solution architect is responsible for ensuring that requirements are sufficiently clear to commence architecture and design and that acceptance requirements have been clearly defined.
2.- Construction or Build
Quality assurance of all architecture and design deliverables. This involves reviewing all development deliverables and certifying that they are complete including: Unit testing and System testing
3.- Quality Assurance
Directing integration testing
Participating in regression testing
Participating in software security testing
Load testing and performance testing; and
Release
4.- Architecture and design
Responsibility for data warehouse design and providing technical direction to data modelers, data analysts, data integration architects, data integration developers and database administrators.

Physical data base design, including Star schema and data mart design, and Snowflakes chema design
Change data design, including slowly changing dimensions;
