Description

Our client, located in Midtown Atlanta, is seeking a Security Manager for their IT GRC environment.
The Security Manager is responsible for setting the strategy and yearly tactical plan of the security program. They're looking for someone with at least 7 to 8 years' experience in security and at least 3 years in a manager role.

The role is responsible for governance and operational activities including:

  • Reporting to senior management through the Security Governance Committee, executives, and board of directors
  • Facilitating committee materials and metrics reports for presentation
  • Managing the security operations team who utilize various products and services including MSSP, IDS, SEIM, antivirus, web proxies, network packet analysis, and other technologies
  • Works closely with peers within the department including business continuity and IT GRC to identify risks and mitigation plans
  • Identifies new security products and services for evaluation by team members whether replacing existing tools or introducing new capabilities
  • Provides advisement to other teams in regards to security design and controls (such as software development projects, outsourced services, and other initiatives that have a security impact)
  • Managing the incident response process if a severe event is declared
  • Interacting with auditors, assessors, and federal examiners while reviewing the security program
  • The program is very mature in both governance and security operations but is continually evolving to strengthen further
  • Cybersecurity has an extremely strong focus from the board of directors and executive management, as illustrated by a formal
  • Security Governance Committee (in existence since 2009), made up of department heads and a Cybersecurity Working Group made up of the COO, CIO, CRO, CMO, CAO, CISO and legal counsel. Some of the primary initiatives on the security roadmap include:
  • Evaluate and implement replacement solutions the current SIEM
  • Replace the current application whitelisting product
  • Upgrade/replace enterprise Firewalls and utilize a third party to perform a holistic network design assessment in regards to security (implementing design changes recommended from the assessment)
  • Evaluate and implement additional DDOS protections
  • Upgrade/replace the user access provisioning system (IAM)
  • Continue to automate manual processes through the use of the GRC solution for automated workflows and cross platform risk identification/reporting
