Description
Our client, located in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Virtualization Engineer (VMWare) to help virtualize existing physical Servers. Candidates need to have either active or recently active DoD Security Clearance or Automated Data Processing II Public Trust Adjudication.
Responsibilities
- Performing VMware systems administration functions as a part of a team of IT System Administrators providing Tier II support
- Providing supporting services such as data protection, (back-up and system security) Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Administration
- Assisting with design, testing and implementation
- May be required to provide on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Basic Required Skills:
- Possess experience with vSphere 4.1 and 5.x Enterprise
- Be familiar with CommVault and Double Take Software
- Be experienced with managing multiple projects and tasks
- Have experience with various patching and dependent systems (ie, Active Directory, ePO, Network and DNS)
- Have experience maintaining and changing out hardware
- Be experienced with design, implementation and support of VMware Server environments on at least 3 networks.
- Be experienced in troubleshooting and trouble resolution of software issues
- Security+ certification
- Active or recently active DoD Security Clearance or Automated Data Processing II (ADP II) Public Trust adjudication
Desired Skills:
- Basic or general MS SQL experience
- Windows OS 2003 R2 and 2008 R2 knowledge
- Microsoft clustering
