Description

A new opportunity has arisen with a leading School in Qatar for a System Administrator with good English spoken experience to work Remotely from home/Work from home for a 3-6 Month plus Contract for a leading company in Qatar.

You can be based anywhere in the world as long as you have the following skills;

The main sys admin/IT support skills you will possess are; Microsoft Exchange Servers, Microsoft forefront for Exchange, Microsoft Enterprise ISA Servers, Support SharePoint.

It is important that you hit the ground running and have as many of the skills as possible.

You can be based anywhere in Europe or the Middle East.

You will be responsible for Systems Administration which will involve the following;

Policies & Procedures

  • Ensure the implementation of relevant department policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of a quality, cost-effective service to internal customers.

System Administration

  • Create new accounts for users, delete accounts, reinitialize password accounts and specify responsibilities as per superior's instructions and established policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

System Installation & Configuration

  • Install new and rebuild existing Servers and configure services, settings, directories, Servers, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and business/operational requirements.

System Monitoring

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes to ensure system efficiency and reliability

System Maintenance

  • Perform core business solution maintenance in order to ensure consistent productivity of the applications and systems such as Active Directory, E-mail system, Proxy, security solution, etc.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

End User Support

  • Resolve issues with end users' email, shared files and internal applications ensuring that these are adequately addressed and resolved.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • MCIPT certification

Minimum Experience:

  • 7-15 years of experience in system administration or similar position

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Internal customer service orientation.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant systems (Microsoft) and operating procedures.
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft Exchange Servers, Microsoft forefront for Exchange, Microsoft Enterprise ISA Servers, Support SharePoint.
  • Detailed knowledge of security solutions such as, but not limited to Symantec solutions Bright Mail, Endpoint Security and other products.
  • Detailed understanding of systems backup procedures and protocols.
  • Detailed understanding of information emergency and disaster recovery procedures and protocols.
  • Detailed knowledge of system access policy and protocols.
  • Sound programming skills to allow modification and installation of updates from vendors.
  • Proficiency in English. Arabic is a plus
