An exciting opportunity for a senior product controller has come about at a top tier bank in London. The product which the team work with include CDS, ABS, TRS and Interest Rates. The purpose of the product controller role is to perform on a daily and monthly basis the production and reporting of the Credit portfolio management (CPM) business.
WHATS ON OFFER:
CONTRACT: 6 months
LOCATION: London
RATE: £350-£400
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Monthly reconciliation of Flash P&(L) (RePortal) to actual reported P&(L) in SAP for the related functional units under responsibility with minimisation of breaks
- Responsible for daily P&(L) reporting on businesses under CPM on a timely and accurate basis both to Front Office and the Finance systems in accordance with reporting deadlines/requirements and including attaining daily trader sign off where appropriate.
- Produce and maintain MTD, QTD and YTD commentary by Counterparty for MIS reporting purposes.
- Proactively monitor controls pertaining to cash and integrity breaks and work closely with Operations and Front Office to ensure these are resolved within a timely basis.
- Actively participate into any projects related to area of control
- Work with other Finance teams including IPV and Financial Control internal P&L reporting.
KEY REQUIRMENTS
- Fully qualified or part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or qualified via extensive technical experience and expertise
- In depth knowledge of ABS, CDS, TRS, Interest rates
- Previous Product Control experience within an Investment Banking environment
- Ability to work through the complexities involved in controlling & reporting multi-instrument and multi-system booked transactions
- Strong understanding of technical accounting policies and standards relating to investment banking products
- Strong MS Excel skills essential
- Able to work to tight daily and monthly deadlines with an attention to detail
- Highly motivated and ability to either self resolve issues and in addition, knows when to escalate
