The Software Applications Engineer will work directly with customers to integrate and customise unique infotainment technology. The job will also involve preparation of technology demonstrators to help sell the technology to new potential customers.
This role reports to the Head of Customer Engineering. The ideal candidate will have an open-minded approach to solving design challenges and will be comfortable integrating systems using a variety of software technologies ranging from microcontrollers to Windows applications.
This is an external-facing role, so the candidate will have a professional approach and will be comfortable working with customers across a diverse range of industries and cultures.
Some global travel will be required.
Skills and attributes:
*Experience of being the interface between customers and internal engineering teams
*Product development and integration experience, ideally across a range of platforms including ARM-based microcontrollers, embedded Linux and PC-based environments
*GUI design and implementation (using C++, .NET or Java)
*Experience of serial communication architectures (e.g. RS232, I2C, SPI, I2S). Experience of USB HID would be an advantage
*Experience of device driver development (Linux or Windows) would be a significant advantage
