Overview

The Legal, Compliance and Government and Regulatory Affairs department manages the legal services, reviews trade reports, educates to avoid unintentional rule breaches or conflicts of interest, and advices on regulatory and political challenges. It protects the integrity and reputation of the bank by managing legal risk to make transactions viable and safe. It advises on ethical conduct and identifies regulatory solutions along with promoting and fostering lawful and ethical business through a true partnership with the business.

A Compliance Officer is required to join the Position Reporting Group (PRG). As the Compliance Officer you, as part of the PRG team, will be responsible for ensuring the bank complies with its global disclosure obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Position reporting functions for 29 jurisdictions in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
  • Ensure the process undertaken to reconcile transaction and position data in preparation for disclosure notices adhere to the PRG guidelines
  • Ensure familiarity with disclosure requirements for jurisdictions under the control of PRG EMEA (Takeover Panel, Large shareholding and Short Position Reporting)
  • Assist in raising the PRG profile through high standards of communication with compliance, legal and business
  • Contribute suggestions for the improvement of the systems and data used by the team
  • Respond to enquiries from traders about the bank's disclosure position
  • Liaise with traders and structured product teams over trading activity
  • Work with change the bank project managers on system enhancements and assist with user acceptance testing
  • Submit disclosures to local regulators and supervisory bodies

You will have:

  • Takeover panel reporting experience; completing both public and private disclosure forms, form submission
  • Experience in a position reporting environment in an investment bank or experience gained in monitoring or advisory compliance
  • Familiarity with position monitoring and legal and regulatory disclosure obligations.
  • Strong analytical, workflow and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees
  • An organised and structured work style with the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Previous involvement in building new systems to meet complex reporting requirements
  • Previous involvement in user acceptance testing
  • Maturity of approach and high levels of integrity
  • Good system skills

You will be:

  • Educated to degree level or have relevant work experience
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a small team in a small security controlled environment
  • Discrete when handling of confidential information
