Release Manager - Maritime, Project Management, Agile
A Release Manager with Maritime, Project Management and Agile experience is required to work on a fifteen month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Portsmouth.
This is a 6 month contract with a good chance of extension.
Overview of the Release Manager Contract role.
Responsible for the Release Management life cycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the business for multiple applications. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements or individual projects and programs and need to be co-ordinated through each environment from development, to test and ultimately into production.
Key skills required for the Release Manager
- Degree/HND qualified
- Previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
- Experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
- Formal training in project management practices preferred
- Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Must have delivery experience of the change management process and software releases
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
- Experience of Agile and ITIL is preferable.
The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
